What is the best type of sales page in regards to seo? Blogs, hubpages, traditional single page ads, etc?

best type of sales page is a page that converts. in terms of seo, any page can be seo-ed so you just focus on the type of sales page or landing page that results in more sale. in my view, traditional website pages work the best as landing pages

    Thanks,

I have recently launched two single-page affiliate pages that simple allow linking to the main sales page of the product. I was considering another but useing a blogging platform if it was considered to be more popular in Google's eyes due to the dynamic content.

As sultonofseo stated the best type of sales page is the one that converts the most. I think the 'best' type differs based on the purpose. Landing pages for PPC ads (like Google AdWords) meant to convert to sales are typically totally different from pages I would develop for SEO based sales.

Landing pages for PPC typically give the consumer little in the way of options other than to click through and convert. If Google Quality Raters find these in their indexes they will typically bury them in the SERPs.

Pages to attract sales via SEO IMO are much different. They have links to other useful pages. SEO based sales typically have a longer sales cycle.

IMO, the future will be based on CMS based sales pages. And that platform that will be used will be Wordpress.
This is because it will be a lot lower costs to the owner when editing & re-designing.
To create the full sales page, might be aprox. $600 - $1500 to get it done from scratch, but it is worth it in the long run because you won't have to expend out additional funds for a designer or developer & also extend the sales page with plugins. Take a perfect example here: AffiliateOilWells.com. This site is for sale. Complete customized via Wordpress.
