    Breaking Bad gets my vote. The show was just so different than anything else that's ever come on before and the characters are so real that unlike many TV shows where you watch it and think to yourself, "this is so unrealistic" - Breaking Bad is just the opposite.

    I would rank Breaking Bad, The Sopranos and The Wire as the best three in television history.

    I would argue that shows like Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones probably represent the next tier. If you haven't seen any of these five shows, I would highly recommend them all.
