Best trick or software to protect folder in windows..

    You can use Folder guard to protect the contents of any folder.
    It should work but I haven't used it yet in Windows 7.

    I like to use WinRAR to compress the folders, and put a password on it along with file encryption.

    depends on how high protection your looking for :] nothing is 100% safe.. well there is some cases if we talk about full pc cripting and setting passwords all over.

    just pick up some password agent from google i guess.. cannot say the name becouse i dont use them.

    Another vote for TrueCrypt. :)

    I wouldn't trust anything else to encrypt my data. It's open source and free. You can use it to either encrypt your ENTIRE drive (requires password at boot), or you can create encrypted containers (e.g 1MB, 10MB, 500MB etc), and just drop your files into it like you're using a separate physical drive.

    TrueCrypt is an example of just how good open source software can be.

    Depending on which version of W7 you have, you could use the built in BitLocker.

    Or as others have said TrueCrypt.
