It really depends on what kind of 'products and services' you want to sell. Your question is really general but let me give you a random example. Let's say you're into selling musical instruments so good traffic sources would be a good PR for keywords like 'buy piano', 'piano for sale'...etc. These kind of keywords have a real potential of making sales and conversions. Another good source is forums. If you can get on a forum where musical instruments are discussed and establish some reputation there, you could easily get some sales.

I've found write articles in a good way to get targeted traffic. Some traffic exchange can get sales, depending what it is. There are many people using traffic exchanges to promote their own products but it provides lots of visits.

    Both are fee methods.

It really does depend on what you are selling and to whom you are selling.

I for one recommend 2 things to all my clients:
    1. Search Engine Marketing
    and
    2. Advertising on your competitors websites or websites that review very similar products that you are selling.

For example if you are selling acne creme I would do SEM and try to place ads on websites that review the various types of acne cremes.

    Hope I helped!

A lot of people will tell you Google Adwords just because its Google. but I will say that SEO and getting ranked in Google, Yahoo & MSN will always be tops.
    Think content and links.
