Best tool to check backlinks?

    Hello,

I want to check one of my competitors' back links, they have about 2000 back links.

Is there a tool that can check all back links of a site, 1000 links per query?

    Thanks!

Site Explorer provides the most comprehensive backlink information of the major search engines. The limit is 1000 links. All the online backlink tools, including ours use Site Explorer to provide anchor text and backlink page specifics.

We provide up to 3000 backlinks for domains with that many external backlinks reported in Google Webmaster tools but this is obviously limited to domains you own.

    Thanks for the reply.

Can Site Explorer show backlinks except some domains? I can't find this option.

    Thanks!

You can download a TSV file from site explorer and do the 'except' thing on your own too.

    google: link:yoursite.com
    yahoo: link:yoursite.com
    msn: link:yoursite.com

Yes, but this works only when site is indexed, and what tools are useful when site in not indexed yet?

    Inaccurate :)
Shouldn't it be linkdomain: Or one can use siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com
Never used MSN/Live for such things ;)

Try 'hand searching' on millions of websites.. you can't use a 'tool' to find backlink unless the tool knows about the backlink (indexing) :)

    Examples:

    linkdomain:competitor.com -site:backlinkdomain.com
    linkdomain:competitor.com -site:backlinkdomain.com -site:backlinkdomain.com

    For a particular page

    link:h ttp://www.domain.com/page.html
    link:h ttp://www.domain.com/page.html -site:backlinkdomain.com
    ^
space added to prevent link creation (no space when entering advanced search operators)

    Happy digging!
