I've found out a good tip to use twitter, first of all by following lots of people. Then publish your entries on the updates section, adding a tinyurl would be helpful. Any other helpful tips? Please comment
well, I have never invested time in trying to figure out how to get the most from Twitter as I still consider it mostly as a great market toy. Nothing more, nothing less.
I dont use the black hat method of adding a bunch of followers to hopefully get them to follow you back. I have more people following me then I follow, I think that looks better some how. But I take a lot of time in branding and giving value on my twitter. I comment on other peoples twitts and that seam to get me even more followers, especially if the guys I follow have more followers then me and they comment back. But branding is a good thing IMO
The biggest tip I can give is to treat it like a social environment and avoid the temptation to just post ad after ad. The image I keep in my mind is a room full of influencers within the industries I am interested in. Take the time to get to know the "room" and participate in the conversation in a way that adds some value. As you build credibility, you build followers. It's a fun little tool and I've already received some benefit in: 1) Making new contacts. 2) Learning new things. 3) Re-establishing contact with old friends. 4) Picking up some new clients. I get a kick out of the folks that either don't understand Twitter or use it improperly and then say that Twitter itself is useless. It's like any other tool. It has its uses. Used responsibly, it will give you results.
That is great advice, esp if you have time to respond to tweets and such. But the idea is to get maximum exposure with minimum effort Just add as many bloggers in your niche as possible. Most will follow back and some will even blog about your posts, just be polite and try to respond them when they ask something Also use an autoresponder with a link to your blog when people follow you. The idea is to add manually, if possible,
It's not worth the work, unless you just enjoy talking to people on twitter. Even if you have a bot, which would just get you banned anyway. (even if you have somewhat even number of following & followers). Twitter doesn't help in terms of marketing until you become an authority or someone people really like to listen to. So in other words, if you are just linking to your blog and not having good stuff in it, then you won't gain followers. If you aren't talking to people and tweeting properly you won't get good followers. For example, one twitter friend I know, Crimson Politics actively tweets everyday, and not just linking to random places. He actually tweets about discussions without linking to somewhere even. Hence he gets a lot of followers, even though it's very new. Of course, if you're already an authority, like Karl Rove who made his twitter account--- he has 3215 followers or so, in about 3-4 days!!!!
Twitter is like one of those toys you buy at the Dollar Store or Neat Tech Shops. You play with it for a little while, quickly find out its real value and then place it in the box with the rest of the gazingus pins you've played with. Occassionally going back to it like a rubix cube... still can't find out the real value other than a brain teaser.
I disagree and think that Twitter is much more than just a "Dollar store toy". I think the trick is learning how to use it effectively and not to just spend all day chatting about nothing. Offer good solid information and don't just promote your own stuff and you will start to see the benefits quickly.
Twitter- a place for better interaction is being used wrongly by many users for advertising. This is a place where you can get more friends of your same mind. Instead of following blindly all the twitters, select and follow them to send direct message about your blog post or web page. This will definitely help you to get more visitors for your blog/site.
I use twitter, and I found that it is a lot easier (and more relevant) to use twitterfeed to tweet my newest blog posts. It saves me a lot of time, and if I want to add another comment tweet, all I have to do is add it from tweetdeck whenever I feel like it, complete with url shortening and instant reply notification. You can get lost and spend lots of time "tweeting", or you can automate the whole thing from your blog, (you can go the extra mile and use your autoresponder to post blog posts sequentially and on autopilot if you want), to twitter, and then on to facebook and squidoo (through module linking), without ever leaving your email client or blog editor.
Now there is tool who can delete all of profiles you follow, but they don't follow you back. Also good tip is to follow big profiles, with 200-300k followers, like cnn, Obama ets is. Then delete them from your follow list, next day follow them again. Some of their followers will see you in the top of their follow list and may add you.
Make regular post. Now you can use tweetlater.com to do all your post at one setting and spread them out over the course of the day or week. Maybe set 15 per day. 5 post with your affiliate links, 5 with retweets back to others and 5 with just opinions you have. Also get twitterkarma.com to see who is not following you. Unless they are of a benefit to you than unfollow them. Monitor your progress with twittercounter.com. Keep building and work on your followers and you relationship with them. http://twitter.com/ronaldec
Twitter is the ish. The difference between success and failing is a ratio of 7:1 7 posts of outreach, retweeting other peoples stuff, asking questions, to 1 of your own posts.
I already made some updates about my profile and provide my site link to promote my page.I hope my followers will be interested to click my url.
Twitter can be used several ways, to target a niche, advertise to the mass, or just post, comment, learn, meet others and have fun. Whichever way you decide this is one of the webs best communication tools. follow me here on twitter!
heh heh the clueless sheep followng other clueless sheep. Over 5 million go there on a monthly basis (just to poke around, and then leave), yet less than 400 post there daily in a 24-hour period. I wouldn't say "everyone." Can we say, "hyped-up"??? And, uh, no, it is not useful. Not even close. But it is good for those times that you are really bored, and or for those who don't have a life.
