I have come up with a contest I will be posting on my FB page which has over 6,400 fans, which I believe will go viral. Any ways, I wanted to know what is the best day and time of the week to post a contest on facebook, one that will be going on for about a couple weeks? I wanted to make the most of my contest by posting it at the right time. please share links to charts or anything u guys have. I have tried googling this but haven't found any solid results.
I saw a blog post about this once.. and it's on weekday after lunch break or weekend later in evening.
No. Thursdays at 4pm. My friend works in Facebook's User Ops department, and he tells me that's when its most active. Also, if your page isn't virally already with 6,400 fans its 80% likely it won't go viral.
Ya, I keep getting different answers on this... razz jazz wut do u mean if my page isn't already viral it won't go viral?
Wouldn't it just be the time that most of your friends are online? Just take samples throughout the day for one week to find out.
It's hard to say, I wanted to see if i could find cold hard facts about best times to post. For example, I know if i post around a 2:30 on a weekday I will get little to no response. I want to maximize it.
I heard that monday, wednesday, and friday afternoon evening times between 3 and 5 are the best times to post anything online to grab peoples attention! Not sure if this theory is true but would be interested to find out!
Sunday evening used to be the best eBay night? Not sure about FB...maybe as posted above..Thurs 4pm??
Guys here are awesome stats for peak activity on FB by time, day of week and more: mashable.com/2010/10/28/facebook-activity-study Just remember to use multiple posting techniques if you have fans from several Time-zones (e.g. USA and Europe).
I worked at a realty office where the receptionist did a lot of internet marketing and she found this to be true. It also depends on the subject matter. Some people are not looking for 'business' stuff on weekends. What is the primary focus of your facebook campaign?
