Best thing to do while site is offline for maintenance?

    I have to take one of my sites offline for a few hours (could blow out to an entire day) - just wondering what's the best thing to do to prevent SEO issues while the site is offline?

    go knock back a few beers on the beach. nothing you do/dont do over the course of a "couple hours" should matter

    The best thing to do is work on the site and fix it as soon as possible. I had sites out and they lost ranking on some search engines fast.
