Best strategy to optimize an adult site?

Hey everyone,

I'm helping a friend optimize his 2 online adult stores (selling adult toys). This is my first time to handle sites of such niche so I'm not really sure if my strategies will work.

Our goal is to rank for highly competitive keywords but I know that it's hard to achieve right now. However, we are ranking for some less competitive keywords that bring us a few traffic and sales, at least.


What would be the best strategy in this case? Most desperate SEOs would resort to black hat techniques I guess. How about paid links?

Traffic from adult sites. i mean a balcklink (force users to click on that link)

Try to get some good links from niche adult webdirectories, and adult business listings. Also try getting links from comments on adult blogs (there are no end of them). And possibly try searching for some dofollow adult social bookmarking sites.

PS. Signature links on adult forums.
