what would be the "best" place to buy large amount of domains? Criterias: - price (affiliate programs, coupons, discounts etc). Since i am doing business with a friend it totally makes sense to pay attention to those things. For example GoDaddy pays 20% commission through CJ - management (how easy/difficult to change bulk settings); - Flexibility (how easy to sell domains , if needed) thanks!
WTF 5000 domains! are you planning to take over the internet by yourself? or is this for adsense landing pages Sorry I have no good suggestions :-(
Fabulous.com and Moniker.com specialize in large portfolios. I doubt that the 20% CJ commission would last long if Godaddy saw you pumping 5,000 of your own domains thru it.
its a few 100k to become a registrar at the very least. Contact moniker and you will get a lower price for that quantity. Also it depends on the extension as well. Can get infos cheap at a ton of places but then you may end up with a crappy registrar.
If you actually plan to register 5k names contact some registrars you feel meet your criteria and they should be willing to negotiate, at that volume you have a lot of power to get them to go down on their front page price. Do your research though, make a good choice in your registrar.
You can get the price to $5.99 for a .com at registerfly for the quantity. Here is godaddys bulk page https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/registrar/bulk/bulk.asp?ci=254
This is a joke, right ? You will get the highest prices if you do that $6.25 not including icann yearly fees, insurance fees, servers and maintenance fees and others Sure you can deal with a registrar for a slight better price than normal retailer but the low prices/offers of 5.99 or similar are for low volume customers What will be their profit if you don't buy any additional services? It is better for a registrar to have 5000 customers with 1 domain each than 1 with 5000 domains. The 10% of the 5000 customers will buy for example web hosting which will be the profit for the registrar
5000 domains at registerfly ? It's better to give the money to charities because he will loose most of them there
Also a word of advice, having 5000 names in random doesn't mean you will make profit Portfolios are build steadily and carefully Registering every combination you find doesn't put you in a better position than others Hold you money and buy a premium name I've seen 1-2K portfolio to collapse and dropped for re-registration because they were all crap names without any parking traffic or anything With high volume portfolios usually the owners don't have time and will to develop them so they rely on the domain value for type in traffic .... If the domain don't deliver then you can be sure that you will hear sooner or later the big booom
Very good advice. If you are buying 5000 domains then the best way is to start your own registrations. Or become a reseller for some registrar.
I have about 400 to 500 and I don't know what the F*** I am doing. Don't even know 20% of the names I have. Don't know which registar some of them are Some may not even be forwarded to my other domains. If you are going to get 5000, I am not sure how you are going to manage. Thanks
My advice: - don't use RegisterFly - don't become your own registrar. This is a very competitive business and you should get very good prices on your domains. Check out Moniker. I've heard a lot of positive comment about them from serious domainers about their bulk tools and service. They will offer you a rate of $6.75 or lower if you are registering that many domains. They also offer a cheaper rate for .net registrations.
It will cost you extremely high amounts of money and infrastructure requirement. Search Google for more info.
registerfly!! Run away from them. Even if they are $1 it's NOT WORTH IT! Check the news. They are screwing people left and right. Including me. They were a reseller for Enom for a long time and for one reason or another are not anymore. Most domains which were registered through them via enom are now in lala land. I am in the middle of trying to get one out now. NO SUPPORT! 2 weeks no response to phone calls. NO response to tickets (2 submitted 0 answered!). Theya re still taking customers err should I say customers money. Godaddy is ok. Ive had maybe 100 names with them for a few years and never had any MAJOR problems but they did forget to send me renewal emails. Good thing I track renewals myself. With that many names Moniker should be your first choice and they will give you a really good price. I would also suggest hitting DNforum.com and asking around for second opinions. Many there have in the 10k - 100,000 names range so their insight would help. Also many of the registrars have staff who frequent DNF. GL
Im going to 2nd reseller club actually. You will get domains (com, .net, .org) for just $6.49. Not to shabby. http://www.resellerclub.com/
