Forum is a great way to drive traffic but forum marketing is an active way to drive traffic, meaning, you have to put in effort to drive traffic, just like article marketing. For AdWords, you will only need to pay. However, quality of traffic wise, I think AdWords traffic will be more laser targeted. Anyway, it is amazing that you say that 90% of your traffic come from forums. May I know the traffic level (how many UVs a day?) of your site? I guess by looking at the participation level of you forum that the quality of traffic does not work out pretty well on you.
