    Hello Experts

I have an existing website running on WordPress. This website showcases our product range / portfolio. We plan to start selling some of our stuff online. I have used WooCommerce earlier for some other project. The existing theme is more of a portfolio theme and not suitable for an eCommerce website. Which option you think I should go ahead with considering the maintainance, SEO and other aspects.

    • Setup a sub-domain like "shop.domain.com" and install a new WP setup with Woo Commerce and a specialised eCommerce Theme
    • Simply add "Buy Now" buttons manually to the products I wish to sell online in existing setup.
    • Make a new website with new theme which supports both Portfolio and eCommerce functions.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello there,

1- I assume that you use a Homepage as Static page and Blog for recent posts :

So in this case, the simple easy, safe way with no hassle, is to use the WooCommerce Shortcodes to display your products on Homepage.. You can use for example :

    [recent_products per_page="12" columns="4"]

2- You can install Woocommerce and create a Page to display the Woocommerce products like : Our Shop or something then use the Shortcodes to list your products.

3- The Subdomain solution can work too but the main subject is to Earn Money and to Earn Money it's better to add the products on your Main Website which have a Traffic Juice, Trust Flow :) !! so why wasting time and energy on a Subdomain website creation!!

    Goodluck

Update: I finally decided to Install woocommerce on a sub domain. This way my existing website database is not affected and I can see selective products on my e-commerce site.

    Thanks

    Hi,

As suggested, Woocommerce, I'm using it on 3 sites, Just love it, Even better it's free, Takes a little while to get used to it but once you do, I'm sure you will be pleased, I'm also using the free storefront template.

    Best Regards
