What is the best software to use for copying data from one hard disk to another hard disk? I need to copy the whole system of my main hard disk to a 2nd hard disk. I am running a Windows server 2003 for my data entry, and I am told to keep a back up of my main hard disk in case it will crash. Any help?
a. you can use Microsoft Rich copy professional. It is free. you can execute it via commandline. specify the source folder and target folder. several other options available. b. you need to maintain the data in different Hard disk which doesn't contain OS files. and backup the files regularly to another hard disk.
I use Second Copy for daily backups on shutdown to a separate internal drive + weekly backups to an external drive. I use Macrium Reflect (free edition) to mirror my system drive whenever I make any major changes, or install anything that I might regret. For backup data I use @max syncup. I migrate the most important data to online storage (google drive) the rest – to ex hdd. Image backup I haven’t done yet (
acronis true image will be a good choice, but... unfortunately it doesn't support server os, you will have to buy backup and recovery 11 server for windows which costs about $900 and I think you don't want to spend so you can do a little trick here. using true image media builder create a bootable CD/DVD disc, using that disc you can backup/recover server versions, but you will have to install true image on non-server os first to create that CD, so all is legitimate. BTW here is a link for a good online backup 2014 comparison chart, there are mostly home-users backup/recovery software comparisons, but still it may help you to choose
After test few Software I think http://www.acronis.com/en-us/ offers best Backup and recovery software (Acronis True Image 2014 Best for Home PC) and EaseUS Todo Backup is second best - http://www.easeus.com/backup-software/ Macrium Reflect is one of the best free backup and recovery software - http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx You can also check this post => Comparing 20 Drive Imaging Software Backup/Restore Speed and Image Size
