I am going to be starting my first self-hosted affiliate program. It will be on a website selling digital downloads. Each "download" will cost $100.00 and I will give the affiliates 50%. Looking for software that will enable each affiliate to have their own backend where they can track clicks/conversions and a separate admin panel where I can set cookie length, etc. The more automated it is the better, if users can create their own account - that's a huge plus! I will pay up to $50/month for this service, any recommendations?

idevAffiliate has a terrible interface and search functions. hasoffers is the way to go, best reporting, tracking.
iDevAffiliate and OmniStar are great options for your budget. But I'd persistently recommend you to puchase the license. It will shorten you expenses on the software in a long term run extremely. I know that PostAffiliatePro offer purchasing the license, the price starts from 200$, but you'll not have to pay each month. It's much more cheaper, moreover you'll receive the access to some additional services.
I am using idevAffiliate has nothing bad to say about the software: The user interface is simple to use: http://qwikad.com/affiliate/ It took me about 3 hours to set it up and get it going. A snapshot of the admin panel. Of course you can find more on their site.
Hey Matthew, I just wanted to pop in and say that back in my earlier IM days I was a huge HasOffers fan. I was a little disappointed to find out they no longer offer their free version. For the price you get a very robust platform that I would trust over pretty much anything else. When I ran an affiliate offer on their platform I never had any complaints from my publishers in regard to missing conversions. The overall usability of the platform is superb. I would highly advise you to consider the platform when you can afford it. Now for the real "In the now" solution. I have two ventures (you know one of them) that use AffiliateWP to track affiliate sales. We work in a little different way by using a coupon code to track affiliate sales and cannot speak on the accuracy of AffiliateWP's tracking outside of the coupon tracking method. Setup was a breeze and under the Wordpress GPL you can acquire the plugin for free. The price on the AffiliateWP page is strictly for updates and support. If you'd like more information on that feel free to PM me. Hope this sheds some light on your situation. Cheers, M
