If budget is not anything to worry about go custom! Then it will be completely unique - all selling social networks scripts have branding one way or the other either on the website or in their source code.

it is better to go with some reliable paid softwares, rather than the free ones...

 

there are many online tools which are available such as iscripts socialware which comes at affordable rates..

 

There are hell lots of bugs in free scripts or if they don't have bugs their designs are pretty useless, i have a perfect facebook clone if you or anyone needs it then you are most welcome to contact me

 

I've always gone with PHPFox but it depends on your budget, if you can afford an PHPFox license go for it.

 

I would suggest to use SocialEngine script. I used to have it but later sold it. It was good

It's not a social network script, it's a Youtube clone.
Not much "social" on it.

 

i think you can try on with iscripts socialware.iscripts have got a wide range of functionality. it is very user friendly and really affordable.

I rather like the phpfox version,never really thought about one of these types of sites before so would the best option be to start from scratch from a new build sites or go for a established site and can these sites be run by just one person or is it best to set one up in a partnership.The hardest bit as far as i can see at the moment is finding a decent domain.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this one please.
