    And also there are lots of free publishing sites where your website can be published and may attract lots of traffic. In my opinion social networking sites will play a major role here. then try you tube,vimeo,particular forums etc. I dont see major difference in directory submissions like older days.
    oh well if you can get in Wikipedia like sites then its wonderful.

    If you decide on using adwords, yes you should pay for that.
    But, you do not need to pay if you can perform SEO for your keyword and get well rank at google. So, google will send quality traffic to your site for free.
