Ok.. I've read lots of tips on advertising and increasing the traffic of a website such as using search engine optimization/site submission tools (and I'm still kinda confused on some parts), but anyways i want to know what are some of the BEST and FREE site submission tools?.. If there are some good ones that require paying, please list them as well. Thanks, for anyone who can reply! :D

Oh, I'm also wondering if these are good sites to use for promoting and advertising your site with:
    Google AdSense
    http://www.wordtracker.com
    http://www.exactseek.com
    http://www.zoominfo.com

I don't understand why the webmasters waste their precious time in submitting the site to the search engines.Instead of that get the sufficient back links.

Thanks for replying DigiDiary, but what do you mean by back links?
Can you explain to me or give me a good website on how to use back links?

Sugio a backlink is when another website puts a link to your website on there's. It is always better to have the anchor text of that link (what the actual link says) be that of a keyword phrase rather then "click here" or "sugoi website". Backlinks will be your bread and butter for getting your site really out on the internet. There is only so much that on page seo can do for you, its the off page seo (link building, branding, etc) that will push you over the edge and where you want to be as far as search engine marketing goes.

As for what you listed for other sites. Google adsence is a great way to start bringing targeted traffic to your website. Depending on your niche and the keyword's you choose determines how much it will cost. With adsense you pay per click (PPC) everytime someone clicks on your link, you have to pay for it.

Wordtracker is nothing more then a keyword tracking service. It is a rough estimate on how many times per month a specific keyword/key phrase is searched on there monitoring network. I personally link keyword discovery myself since it pulls data from 180 search engines and not just 4 that word tracker uses.

Exactseek and Zoominfo are just two other search engines that you can use to have a PPC with (although zoominfo I am not 100% sure on). You can also look into Yahoo's PPC program as well as MSN for a cheaper alternative to google adsense.
