    anyone have any ideas on a good solid shopping cart software (in PHP) that is around $300 or less and uses paypal and other payment gateways? I'd be curious to know your thoughts on one that offers some nice features and reliable, easy setup, etc.

    What do you mean by "best shopping cart"? If about price then osCommerce, ZenCart are the best, because they are free.

    If you want many-many features then may be X-cart is the best.

    If you need a shopping cart with easy installation, easy integration with the existing web site, nice backend for storefront owners and easy storefront customization the you may try Avactis shopping cart. They have PayPal and many other payment methods.

    Try oscommerce, creloaded (oscommerce with contributions preinstalled),
    zenCart, cubecart. They all have free version. Try them and deside what meets your needs the best.

    I was going to say the same thing. Try OsCommerce. It's free.
    Also, temi offers a shopping cart script that is called Boss Cart at http://www.bosscart.com/
    I believe that's also free.

    I really recommend OSCommerce as well. There are a lot of contributions, and you can add pretty much any feature you want..

    I use cubecart and frankly it is amazing. Lots of amazing mods. Free.

    Do not be put off open source because it is free!!

    (cubecart isn't open source mind)

    i love cubecart.
    OScommerce is confusing to me and i think it looks ugly..

    but i'd go with cubecart

    EDIT: wow.. didnt realize how old this thread is.. ringtonegeezer, i wouldnt reccomend bumping old threads with affiliate links..
