Don't forget to add the "TOOL" (person) that gets your website to the first page of Google!

    That "TOOL" is bad ASS!

Check out MarketMuse.co. It's a tool that generates keyword suggestions -- i.e. keywords that don't contain the seed term. For example, for 'dog food', it might suggest 'puppy chow'. (Disclaimer: I helped build this tool.)

Hi, I wrote an article this morning about SEO in 2014, this seems like an appropriate thread to share it on: http://www.twistforum.com/topic/8192-seo-2014-the-state-of-seo/
It covers the three main focuses of SEO for 2014 - content, links & social. There is also a free affiliate mobile marketing manual linked at the bottom which was put together by the team here at Twist Digital. Hope some of you find this useful.

That is true, Majestic has a huge delay in updating any changes in index, I have examples where Ahrefs reports only 2K backlinks when in the same time Majestic reports 10K backlinks - what is not true cos those backlinks dont exist already :), I have checked that hundreds of times and ahrefs always had more accurate data, the differences was really big, it was not 1-2k backlinks but a lot more , for a long time after ahrefs updated it`s index.

Thanks for share this list, I will add to them serpbook rank checker yet, I have tested in the past WEB CEO and Link Assistant rank checkers (rank checkers were a small part of those applications only) but they were desktop applications with a lot of problems with proxies and accurancy but serpbook doing great job, I am using them since couple of months it`s great.

Personally I use the SEO PowerSuite. It has everything I need and feels complete.
To use it for free just get the trial version and run it within a Virtual Machine. Once your done working just Save the Machine state.
When you turn on your VM you will have all your work saved. (the limitation of the free version is it does not allow you to save your work).

I’ve said it before, but I love me a good free tool. Below is a list of my fifteen favorite freebies for doing SEO. While there’s a ton of tools out there, this article means to highlight the essentials. It’s nice to have a huge arsenal, but it can be more powerful to wield a few powerful weapons expertly.

I believe the best way forward for evaluating what tools you should be using is to determine what does X best to the point where supplementing it with data from a similar provider is overkill and not worth the extra monthly subscription cost nor the cognitive overhead.
