After reading a lot from this forum, I must say link building and keyword marketing are very important aspect of SEO. I just checked my backlinks and it's working. We may not optimize our page within a snap of a finger but seriously, it's worth the patience.

The main thing to note is about 10-15% is your 'on page' the off page is much more powerful

When it comes to on page SEO just make sure your keyword is in the
Domain Name,
Title,
Keywords,
Tags,
and Link

It is where and how you get your links from that will determine who sits at the top of Google.
My last site got to the front page in under two weeks by following this structure.

I also like to add "RSS Footer" to my sites. This way I get extra links and traffic through everyone
of my posts. I will also get 15 high page rank backlinks from Linkvana to kick start a campaign.
It is quite expensive however you get great results.
