Hello webmasters many of people will have found that the Google Penguin update has effected their sites rankings. But what about sites you make after the Penguin update? What SEO methods are you finding are working for you post-Penguin update? It seems the Penguin filtered out low quality backlinks and sites that had poor on-site SEO. As well as sites that had too many exact matching anchor text backlinks and not enough "click here", "this site" etc etc type of anchor text backlinks and that emphasis now is on quality backlinks from quality sites as well as related backlinks from related sites. However even though Matt Cutts has said its going to get harder to do SEO it does not mean it's not possible to stay under the Google radar for new niche sites right? My strategy today post-Penguin is; Do keyword research using G's Adwords Tool Google AdWords: Keyword Tool. Find a low-medium volume searched keyword phrase. Check the competition for that phrase. (Eg; see if any sites are already registered with those keywords in the domain etc). Settle on a keyword phrase and create a domain name for them. Create the site using WordPress and add a 800+ word article for the first article. Bookmark slowly using the main bookmarking sites. Create Web 2.0 backlinks like Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Squidoo, Hubpages etc. Get likes & followers and Bookmark the URLs for these. Repeat steps 5 and 8 at least once a week. Repeat steps 1 - 10 for a new site. I see no reason not to keep doing this and have found it has been successful for me post-Penguin. So keep up the niche marketing but let me know your methods post-Penguin! Mike.
