    cms made simple works pretty well for me. be careful on your choice of web host though.. some don't let you edit htaccess which is pretty important for SEO at a later date.

    A wordpress blog is fine to use as a CMS for a "regular" website. If you are skillfull enough, you just take the theme you are using and strip it of anything that sounds bloggy and you'll be just fine.
