    I personally like using JQuery, I did JavaScript for a while (a good place to start). However, I love JQuery for I write less code than I do with JavaScript and if there is something that can't be done in JQuery, then JavaScript (or even PHP) can usually solve the problem.

    well, VB script is the best but JavaScript is more faster to render your script.
    So if you care about UX than JS is the best
    and if you care about functions/limitations than VB
