I've seen a lot of scripts for arcades, but I'm looking for a really good one. I'm also looking for one that has great integration of adsense / ypn but doesn't violate their tos (like so many of them do) Any recommendations?
phparcadescript.com. I use them for my arcade. It is very easy to use and the default layout has a spot for adsense at the very top of the page.
I also like the one mentioned above. I run several arcades on several scripts and phparcadescript is reasonably priced, easy to work with, and also allows remote linking... which I am finding to be an attractive feature as I grow. (I don't have to upload multiple copies of the same game for each of my arcades) I also like onarcade.com's script. It seems a bit more refined and also allows remote linking. It costs a bit more too.
I too am looking for an arcade script at the moment. Is it (phparcade) SE friendly? Also, what's the price?
phparcadescript doesn't work though. Like it doesn't count plays, and the rating system sucks as well. I want one that's really good.
You could always check out TopMediaScript - which lets you share not only games, but videos, images and more. Very SEO friendly, strong implementation of ad spots etc. Full details in my sig - special offer of a discounted price for DP members
I guess this is just my concern: I own this arcade: BestArcade.info I bought it for a low price and thought to myself "well, I'll advertise this on my gaming sites to see how it goes." Basically, I don't get hardly any money or repeat visitors to the site, because well it sucks. I want an arcade that doesn't look like it's from a script or one that has good clean non adult games. I basically want something that I can be proud of telling people to go to lol.
you can look at here I give some scripts and try to explain :http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=2311182#post2311182
Perhaps a "fresh coat of paint" will make you feel better about it. You can spruce up the HTML and CSS code and make it look much better by editing the files in the /templates folder. (make a backup copy first... just in case) -OR- maybe do a search for "phparcadescript themes" which will turn up some a new template you can purchase for your site. I edited my own code for these two arcades which use phparcadescript: Fired Up Arcade and A B Arcade
Arcadetwist.com is kind of like the official phpArcadeScript template store. http://www.arcadetwist.com/_catalog/templates
I've been thinking of making an arcade games site lately. How about GameScript, anyone could give a brief reviews about this one? Also, I saw some ppl offering game packs, can I just buy a pack and install them on any script?
If you're planning on adding the games manually, then yes - however if you're buying gamepacks and wish to simply import an sql file or use an installer etc then you'll need to check which scripts the packs are made for
