Best script for a news/article directory site?

    I would like to make a website where people can post a news release or article.

    The site must have categories that show the latest approved articles/news releases.

    Something like wordpress? Or maybe a forum like PHPBB?

    Probably any sort of CMS or what have you. There are many out there; google is your friend ;) Try searching for a CMS or Content Management System.

    I do mainly custom things now, so I'm not sure how active these projects still are, but PHPNuke and e107 used to be popular 4-5 years ago. I do know that Wordpress is good for just about anything as well. If you're looking for a forum phpBB is good, but vBulletin is the best if you have some ca$h.
