I was wondering if folks could share their experiences with using StumbleUpon to generate initial traffic and what, if any, subsequent traffic resulted... How many stumbles did you get initially? How was activity longer term - after a week, a month, etc? Did you see an increase in subscribers? Did you see a long term increase in visitors? Did you see any change in your revenue streams? Regards, Robert
Stumble is nice but I wouldnt just rely on them... Netscape has been bringing in a lot of traffic for me, and even ranking in google. Same with shoutwire and digg.
Not relying on them - I'm merely trying to explore its potential benefits. Digg isn't particularly friendly toward my niche. I already receive some traffic from Netscape and Shoutwire though. Regards, Robert
With all the StumbleUpon threads on the board, I'm surprised at the lack of response as to actual results... Maybe they're just trying to keep it to themselves. Regards, Robert
I've got around 700 visitors to my site in 2 days from stumble after only 20 stumbles. Although our site has been very good converting Google traffic to money, stumble hadn't provided any revenue at all.
In terms of linkbuilding? I haven't had much success with SU. You do get 1 link for every thumbs up, but they're nofollow.
Well i have got max. of 252 uniques till now in a week! But this is low! I have got 40 stumbles till now and only stumbles are the key to get traffic from stumbleupon. I haven't tried netscape yet but i think i should try it.
I get a lot of stumble traffic to various sites that I promote, and though it doesn't convert well, as it's not targeted traffic, it does help with Alexa rankings, and has resulted in a few backlinks. There's an exchange service mentioned in a posting on DP which I signed up for and have been using to get some very nice traffic boosts.
It gave me significant exposure during the initial Stumble effect. Over the course of last few weekend, I saw over 3200 visitors from Stumbles alone which is what prompted me to ask about it. I can't say much about conversion of Adsense since Adsense decided to display a completely irrelevant ad the whole time. Since then traffic has fallen off significantly but still trickles in. i had 100 uniques..and that to a single post..even 1 stumble can get u the traffic..that 100 may not bring....i got that traffic b'coz in one of the tags computer tricks...my blog appeared at first page...position 5-6 Completely depends on your niche.
I had, in several occasions, more than 1k uniques in 2 days with just one stumble, and yeah, I agree with sat123, it really depends on your niche.
i have just joined stumbleupon recently and have stumbled upon many sites (say around 50 of them)...so will that ensure good traffic to my website...or do i need to do anything else too...i'm quite new to this thing and would like to be guided properly
NO ! you need to get stumbles for your site. try to exchange stumbles and you will see traffic from stumble.
that is what i needed to know how do you get stumbles for your website...there is this toolbar with this button "start stumbling" and then you visit pages...you say whether u like it or not and sometimes even post ur reviews...so is that how u exchange stumbles?
