Hi, everyone! I started two weeks ago with Smart Passive Income ( http://www.smartpassiveincome.com/ ) Blog by Pat Flynn and I found useful information and tons of inspiration. (it seems that he's very popular beacuse of his transparency) Eventually I found The Challenge Training Program ( http://www.challenge.co/training/ ) which I found really good and noticed that a lot of internet marketers started right there. The thing is that information in both sites was generated back in 2008 - 2010 and things have changed enormously since then. (The Challenge will be taken down shortly because even they claim that is no longer valid and will be replaced with an updated version that will be released by August, 2013) So my question is: What updated websites/blogs (from respectable and proven people like Pat Flynn) do you recommend for learning the basics of SEO?
Alcalo - Ignore the previous unhelpful post, you need to check out sourve-wave.com, a guy named Becker...he's awesome and offers no BS SEO advice and tutorials. Check him out, you will lean lots.
I want to thank everyone for your replies! I'll definetely check out your suggestions In the meantime I could add another option that I found useful today: http://www.nichepursuits.com (Spencer Haw's blog, the creator of the Long Tail Pro keyword research tool) Now I realize that SEO training is all about reading content here and there over the web and then making your own criteria (since there are tons and tons of information out there and in most of the cases one "technique" contradicts the previous one ) But what it seems to be kinda universal law of SEO is to test by yourself. Any other valuable suggestions you might add?
Just read official sources first - Google Webmaster Central Blog, Bing Webmaster Center blog and after that follow the above suggestions. There are also official Google channels on Youtube.
That's an excellent idea. I'll check that out too. Any other recommendations from the rest of the community?
Thanks for your contributions revopuno. If anyone else wants to help with some other suggestions... you're very welcome!
I love Jon Cooper's blog at Point Blank SEO for getting practical and creative link-building ideas. He has an epic post called 'link building strategies - the complete list'. Google it and bookmark it
