I moved over to Namecheap because Registerfly was having problems with nameservers (they blamed it on their switch to the new interface). I was happy with namecheap's features and the speed at which you could register new domains but experienced billing problems with them 3 days after I signed up with them and deposited funds. To make a long story short, they cancelled my domain name registrations for some security reasons but never credited me back for the funds that I deposited via paypal. Essentially, they just took my money. I sent them two emails and messages through paypal to no avail. Truthfully, you get what you pay for. Sometimes, it better to pay extra for decent service or in my case, toll-free customer support line.

RegisterFly is nothing but trouble. Godaddy is good but their upselling, as mentioned above, is annoying. I have quite a few domains with them but mainly use Domainsite. I've heard that Moniker is the most secure registrar but I only have a few less valuable names with them right now.

As mentioned earlier, Godaddy are the best. I have hundreds of domains with them and more than 25 accounts with domains in them with other registrars. The extra 'options' when checking out are annoying granted, but overall they are the best IMHO.

Check out my site http://www.domaininglinks.com for links to all the top registrars, as well as forums, parking companies and domaining tools. If anyone signs up for an account through the site let me know and i'll find you a little reward :)

ipower is not bad if you want to save money. I registered over 20 domains with no problems at all. Only pain in the neck is that you would have to send fax confirmation after purchase. I emailed that I do not want to fax each time I buy a domain and they agreed.. now I just have to email them.

Don't use ipower they are not trusty at all. Recommended: namecheap, moniker, enom altough you are paying more but why to risk ?

On a slightly different subject (though I don't think it warrants a new post) which registrars are best for transferring domains to other people (i.e. if I sell one)?

From what I've seen namecheap are pretty straightforward...
