Best Private WHOIS Domain Registration

I'm looking for the best registrar for registering domains with private WHOIS info. The registrar must not be scared into giving up the info upon receiving a C&D letter like godaddy is known to do. I've heard of gandi, what are the other options? Once again, I require the actual domain registration information to be absolutely discreet & confidential.

    Please list some suitable registrars

Registerfly is the right one protecting your information and privacy is free with new registrations, or 99 cents for transferred domains.

Registerfly is the worst domain registrar I have ever dealt with, they NEVER respond to emails sent to them, and they have stolen 12 domain names that belong to me and frozen my account.

I have had problems with them too.

Try namecheap they have free whois and are a good registrar, use the coupon more4less to get money off.

You can use Moniker to use whois privacy for your domain.
In regards with a C&D letter this will be forwarded to you to your email adress.
Having WHOIS privacy does not excempt you from liability or anonimity.

The letter will be directed to the domain owner on file.

In regards with criminal activity these privacy services will give up your personal information to the legal authorities upon presenting subpoena(s) to disclose the information.

Whois privacy is only intended to guard yourself from just anyone being able to search for the owner of a domain and to send unsollicited emails to the email address associated with the domain.

Well, if there is a court order, your information would be provided.

A cease and desist letter is not a court order.

Yeah I know that, I am saying that if there is a court order, your information would be reveal so there is always up to a level of privacy they will provide.

I have literally hundreds of domains registered at Registefly since 6 years ago, they have always replied to emails or support tickets (sometimes not immediately), and they have never stolen any of my domains.
