Best pricing structure for web design

I've been a low-end web designer for about 10 years, and I've always charged by the hour - between $30 and $60 per hour (fluctuating up and down over the years).

I currently charge $49 per hour, and offer 20% off for new clients $39 per hour. My average small business site usually ends up taking around 15 hours.

(I've always billed by-the-hour because it seems inevitable that when you work b the job, you have a great chance of getting screwed with add-ons that they THOUGHT were included.)

I'm sure the better you are, the more money you can make, but as a mom-and-pop designer who's generally had satisfied customers, I've found that anything over $40 per hour is usually pretty painful for small businesses to pay.

Wondering what other pricing structures other mom-and-pop designers have had good experience with...

Price should always depend on how big and how reputable clients you have in your portfolio :)
