I recently got PR3 on my directory, so i raised the price to 3.50. The only thing is since i raised the price i havent gotten any purchased featured links. Do you think if the price were $1 or $2 i would see more purchases?
Try 1.99 just keep playing around. If it's $2 I hope it's not a lifetime listing in your directory or you will regret it. Also open up reciprocals for a while but only take sites that are great or you'd add yourself it will bring more people through and some will just opt for featured or regular. Also sounds weird but at such small amounts people may be like why bother. Doesn't sound logical but I never said it was
It all amounts to work put in + advertising. For instance, if you advertising cost = $120 month then $2 will never cover that. In the future you might be able to drop some ads and make some money.
It really depends on your situation... If most of your submissions were coming from SEO companies they might be holding back to see if you'll change your prices back. When I went through this same process a while back I raised my prices too high at first. I kept them that way for about a week and then gave in. I didnt change them back to what they were, but did decrease them significantly. It's really all about playing with the prices and see where they are best at.
Price should not be attached to PR ( just my view ). I say this as PR is not a factor when building a directory for the joe blow public, they do not care or worry about PR, they want a Phone number, an adress, a contact number, to research a product or item, then if needed purchase that item. Your price needs to reflect the costs ( the work involved with listing the submission ), the end result of that work and would also take into consideration you promotions / and other overall business plans. I am only new and my Feature Page will be $52 YR, regardless of PR 0 or PR 10.
