Best practice to get high ranking for specific keyword?

I like to know what are the best methods to get high ranking for your site for specific keywords? The few methods I am using are

1. Getting backlink from other sites using the keyword I want to get high rank for.

2. Blog commenting using the same keyword.

3. Using forum signature with the same keyword.

4. Using that keyword in Meta tags and Meta description.

5. Using that keyword in the title of the site.

What other methods we can use to get high ranking?

I do update all my blogs regularly.

I don't think it is possible to use the keyword I want to rank for in all blog posts.

 

There is no "best" one actually. You cannot find one magic bullet for SEO anywhere. You have to use all the above to archive high ranking with every keywords you desired ever.

Apart from this I would recommend you vary the anchor texts keyword. From what I have read, you seems like to use a few (1-2) anchor texts for build backlinks. Which is not a good way for a long run. Overdoing with a few keywords could lead your website to being filtered from ranking the keyword you do optimizing for.

I would recommend you not to use keyword anchor text in blog comment. I do agree it could help your website ranking but using it increase a chance for comment rejection.

Also, google ranking depends on your site popularity. The more interesting your site for your users - the better your ranking.

 

Time is always key for this, as for some of the main keywords it could take a while to rank, but, that is okay because the long tails you pick will get you decent traffic, sales, Adsense revenue and whatever else you are targeting in the meantime, and once you get to Page 1 for the main keywords, which usually have gizzillions of daily searches then it’s all golden and you will be laughing all the way to the bank.

 

There is no best practice in SEO and it will not occur overnight. It is only the free service available in world wide wave that needs proper knowledge, time, attention and research. If you do all the things mentioned above and continue, you Will get success.

 

We should change our site content at least 3 months. Google gives more importance to fresh content.

The only, most important factor to get your site/page rank first for a particular keyword is getting backlinks with the keyword as anchor text from related and important websites.
