So far I had content oriented to single country. My new site will have content interesting to people in different countries with same or similar language. I usually define eographic target in Google Webmaster tool. Domain I am using is from my country. Let say it is .at (from Austria) and that content is in German. I would like that content is visible on google.de Is it enough that under "Geographic target" I choose "Unlisted" Will that deacrase good rank on google.at if my domain is .at Is it enough to have .at domain to have good rank on google.at Do you thing that info entered in Google Analytics affects rank on google.com and other google sites? Another thing is it possible to get good rank on google.com if domain is from specific country? If someone has experience with that. Tnx
with enough german anchor text backlinks, you should rank about the same in both countries. competition is lot less there compared to .com site so it should not be too hard to rank high in both countries with enough german anchor links. to be on the safe side, it is a good idea to get links from both austria and germany sites or IPs.
Tnx for quick replies. Should I define "Geographic target" and choose Austria in Google webmaster tools or leave it empty. Can it help it to get better page rank on google.at or it would do more harm for google.de Or backlinks are most important thing and webmater tool is not relevant.
Here is a recent video posted by Google that discusses targeting different parts of your site to specific countries: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9vD9KGK7G8&feature=channel_video_title
