best platform to sell domains?

    Hi

I own a few nice .eu domains that I would like to sell.
I currently have them listed on sedo.com

Is there any platform like sedo.com that is better in your oppinion?
Domain parking would be nice too on the platform.

    Any feedback is welcome

I will tell you honestly. I am a member of:

    SitePoint
    NamePros
    TalkFreelance
    DNForum (Platinum)
    DigitalPoint
    DomainState.com

These are the 6 main places to sell domains. Now most my sales were on DigitalPoint. And for some reason, here I receive attention from alot of mature people, women, so if you have domains targetted for women such as fashion, beauty, pets, then DP is best.

NamePros is good for selling low-priced domains that have to do with the internet. Such as web design domains, etc.

TalkFreelance is a less mature place, best domains to sell there are gaming domains such as Xbox, Arcade domains, etc.

DNForum.com is best for selling domains that people want to invest in, such as 3 character .com's, .us domains, etc.

SitePoint is best for exposure since your listing will stay on page 1 for quite some time. Also web developing/web design domains sell best on SitePoint as well. I know from experience.

I have not discovered DomainState.com yet. It is like a mix of them all and also good exposure as well. My top sales came from DigitalPoint / DNForum / NamePros.

Agree, at namepros people want premium dot com's, with traffic, revenue, older registration, pagerank and yet they want to pay $1 or less, except for exceptional names when the offer reaches the "astonished" amount of $10 or mid-high $xx

DNforum is great but you need to pay for a membership in order to access the domain for sale forums.

In fact, forums are an option to sell domain but if your names are pretty good, could be better park them to make a revenue while they are sold getting at the same time the exposure to potential buyers, otherwise pay a broker service.

Yeah, for example I had this domain htmltalk.com. Which sold for $500 on SitePoint. At Sitepoint it received 4 bids that were $200 and up. On NamePros, it received 2 bids: $10 and $15.

NamePros can be a complete joke at times.

build a adsense/ypn site, you'll get the best price.
buy sedo brinsg the best exposure i think.
domain forums all seem a bit cheap.
and alot of bs to tolerate.

most my sales come from the domain whois or off my own site list.
the domain will stand for itself, if the perosn is really interested.

    ya'll left out afternic.com

although I have never sold anything there, it does gain some exposure.

anyone selling domains should hit them all. just do a web search for "domain forum", domain listing" domain broker" that will pretty well find you them all. but alot of crap mixed in there too.

don't be suckered into paying for a membership or listing or apprasial.

but whatever you do, pick a parking site and leave it there. don't move it from one to the other chasing a few clicks if your trying to sale it.

that will ruin your stats, which MOST will ask about.

although I personally don't think stats make or break a domain, because they are very dependent to what the "owner" does.

not stat out there that can not be faked. so be leary when accepting them and be prepared to back them up when presenting stats.

Thank you for the positive comments about your experiences in selling on SitePoint. I'm glad to hear you've had good success with us, and that you more than earned back your listing fee.

Don't take this personally, but what makes you so special that you get a colored name on DigitalPoint and your own title?

Next time I email you, be a little curteous maybe? Hurts your reputation.

Because some people there thought all domains cost $1. Don't worry. The people mentioned are mostly kids. Same for TalkFreelance.com. They don't know much about domains buying and selling. It's not an easy business. :)

I am new to this board, and since I am fairly new in the domaining biz, I decided to open this thread first.
    Some really interesting stuff. Thanks!
