Im just putting the finishing touches to a very big online store ive made; it's been made in Joomla and Virtue Mart. The onpage seo is very good as numerous seo plugins have been installed so that each item page has the product title both the title and h1 tags and information about the product in the keywords and description tags. Normally the plan of action for a new site would be a spot of directory sumission and maybe an article on each of the pages on your site however owing to the large number of pages on this site thats not an option. The products in the site are split into about 14 different categories, would an article about each category linked back to the category home page be enough? Inital promotion of the site will be done via adwords with the hope of repeat hits coming direct to the url. Setting up the adwords would take long but with this number of products it will be very costly very fast so i need to try and get as much organic traffic as possible. thanks
An article per category will be helpful. I would suggest start off optimizing your categories and then optimize your top selling proucts. This will ensure visibility of your site and would be feasible. Optimizing al 30,000 products will be extremely time consuming and not worth it. Optimize a page a day a you will be done in 300 years lol
