OK this is subjective to who ever is writing it I am sure AS we all have some different ideas and opinions, But for new programmers I wanted to give my advice on what got me through with very detailed explanations my reviews is based on a scale of 1-5 and shall be updated regularly the more I study c++ cplusplus.com is probably the best site for a c++ tutorial site. They give you in detail everything you need to learn and understand it 5/5 game institute I think over all they have a nice presentation on c++ if you are into the gaming aspect, they also offer math courses and artificial intelligence. BUT I found certain parts of the program a bit hard to understand so I would give them a scale 4/5 UDEMY I think udemy is an ok place but here is my issue, They advertise free courses yet if you want to really learn anything you got to pay and sometimes its a heavy charge. the courses I have done was very in depth and detailed but was the price range of 100-400 dollars which imo wasnt really worth it..bottom line is if you got the money and have the time I would go somewhere else but if your just looking for a quick over view of a language then it will work for you 2/5 to be continued or if anyone else wants to add more to help people then by all means add them and i will add them to this list
nice thread, i would like to mention couple of goods sites :- 1)w3schools.com A very rich repository of programming tutorials. 2)stackoverflow.com one of the Best Forum to discuss any problem related to programming. you will get response in few hours. this site really help me in solving programming bugs, issues, or any errors.
lynda.com this is a wonderful tutorial site for basically everyhting, the only set back and what makes it not a 5 is the price. the price is very high for some tutorials 4/5 tutsplus this place is okay I mean it has an okay option for web development but they ask you to pay AND there is mediocre classes mixed up in there id say its a 3 3/5 khanacademy this place is wierd imo and really has a wierd take on teaching you things. I thought it was very elementary 1/5 learnstreet.com I think learn street is great for java or ruby or python. thats all it has to offer so it takes it down a couple points but if it offered more it would definatly be higher as it is a great place 3/5
