Best places to buy domains in 2014-2015

Discussion in 'Domain Names' started by dave2013, Apr 13, 2014.

Just wanted to create this thread to see where people will be registering their domain names in 2014-2015...

Many Godaddy coupon codes are currently not working and many people who use Godaddy are saying they will be moving to another registrar due to high renewal and domain reg costs.

Please share your opinions and which registrar you recommend...

Personally I have tried many different registrars and still am using multiple registrars. Don't have all my eggs in one basket. I like Godaddy because of their Promo codes but see that they are cutting back on their coupons. When it comes time for renewal of some of my names, I may just move to different registrar if no coupons.

I agree... renewal cost are quite high. So, the trick is move them to those who offer discount on transfer.

I just went through you domain lists on Sedo. Long list you had. The bombingnews really makes me laugh ;)

You can still transfer domains between go daddy accounts just not away from godaddy to another registrar :)

Transfer meaning domain registrar transfer. I have transferred many new registered domains to other godaddy account holders before the 60 day period.

I recommend Namecheap and Name.com, both are great registrars.

I was using GoDaddy and Enom, but recently started using 101Domain. They have some great pricing.

I can forsee godaddy losing a lot of customers by cutting back on their coupon codes. The reason they are doing this cut back is to try and promote their memberships for the DDC (Domain Discount Club), which is not all what its cracked up to be, you will get cheaper domain renewals but no more cheap domain registrations from what i can understand.

Another issue is that some TLDs have totally different price between registrars. I suggest Name.com but unfortunately most domainers can't get rid of GoDaddy, people know this registrar and it makes selling domains easier.
