Best place to sell a business online?

Hey,
I am selling all my online businesses as I am moving offline.

Where is the best place to sell your businesses online?

Some are small, others are large.
I am focusing more on the larger ones right now.

From what I have seen, a lot of serious buyers follow this forum.

 

sitepoint has a pretty active buy and sell as well.

 

ebay is a good place to test the value.. you can always cancel if there is more than 12 hours left

 

Ebay, sitepoint, and here are definitely the best. Webhostingtalk can be pretty good too at times

 

i guess, they've suggested the best places to sell your stuff. i have to agree, it's ebay,sitepoint, and dp.

I have one listed at SitePoint already and I'm going to wait for a while to list at eBay, they only allow 10 days max for an auction.
I took a look at eBay though and most businesses on there are turnkey and not worth very much.

Not sure if many people at WHT would have the money I am looking for, I know there are a lot of large companies go there but they wouldn't be in the same market as my sites would be targeting.

I sold a $4500 site the other week on Ebay and sold a $7k one from here a month or so ago, it depends on some luck/timing but they can all be worthwhile.

Depends on genre/price I guess as to which selling site would be better.

 

sji2671, were the sites you sold generating substantial revenue / traffic? or was it just based on domain value....curious to know which sites as well

What kind of sites were those? ecommerce, content, affiliate?

 

One was based on its income, the other a bit more on its potential, I bought both of them earlier this year and did them up, property developing for lazy ba***rds as my partner called it.

There was no real domain value apart from a bit of PR and age.
One site was mainly reference/info the other was a reviews site.

They have both been posted on DP in the sites for sale section by myself if you want to dig back and find them.

 

I sold a senior affiliate dating site on Jim World a few weeks ago. The price I received was approximately equal to one year of commissions which I understand is one of the yardsticks used by purchasers. Good luck!

 

I think eBay is a good place but you should also try to place your offer on WHT, hopefully you can get immediate response there.

i would definately recommendd sitepoint (would recommend DP also but i dont have enough posts to try it out yet). sitepoint has a limited number of new sites come in so you get lots of interested buyers view your website sale.
