I was wondering, are all domain registers the same even though some cost less than others?? Like from GoDaddy or if I register one from Freehostia.

Nah they're different, in terms of support and transfer options etc.

    NameCheap.com is my favourite.

I've been using them for 6-7 years now and have never had a problem...the only negative thing about them is that they never seem to have promotions anymore, beyond the recent .info/99-cent one.

The company I work for uses namecheap, and we just purchased 12 URLs. All of them got free WHOIS masking as a promo. Godaddy wouldn't do that in a million years for their customers.

I think i'll go with Godaddy. I trust DP members opinions more than other forums.
done some homework and they sound pretty good.

The best for me is Godaddy, but I use and a free subdomain from Freehostia, and it's good.

I like and use Namecheap. They have a simple interface, are cheap, and even have a marketplace to sell names you don't end up using. I vote for Namecheap.
