Best place to purchase a domain name?

I'm in the hunt for the best place to purchase a domain name. I've been looking at Godaddy for sometime now since they are only $8.95/domain. I do all my hosting and everything with ontimehosting.com, but their domain names seem over priced at $12.00. Anythoughts to where I should go?

    Many Thanks!

Yep go with GoDaddy. You can still get a $6.95 dot com with them and this can be a new domain or a renewal. Use this code to get the discount:

    gdh0522

See my sig. for other discount coupon codes and you can save BIG money if you get one of their fantastic hosting plans at the same time as your domain.

I registered my domain with godaddy few weeks back. There web-site is full of ads/too many options, but apart from that everything went smooth till yet.

There are lot of 10% discount coupons around for godaddy -- just do a google search for them.

Namecheap.com has always been my favorite. They cost $8.88/yr but come with a lot of free options (like: whois guard, domain forwarding...) and they have a clean and easy to use interface without adds...

I contracted a front end of the big daddy of godaddy to register my sites, it costs $100 a year, but you get the names for 7 and something, and you have always the opportunity of catching a fly if you work it out or give a more proff image saying your clients that you offer registration and hosting. It uses godaddy computers and soft, so it is kind of cool.

I haven't worked it, so it is a private playground for me and some friends (you can give that discounted price to anyone you want). It comes with lots of freebies and now you have the offer of buying for 1.99 the domain if you buy at the same time a non domain product. I donnot recommend the hosting for decent development, it is too limited, and the dedicated server... well, I cancelled it even when I was having a good price on it. It is just personal, it has Plesk and I like Cpannel.

Sorry for no giving more details, but I'm newbie and don't want to start here sounding like a spammer, which I'm not.
