    w3schools is a great one as stated above. You can also learn a lot from software like Dreamweaver, and there are a lot of tutorials out their that are good.

    I used a combination of the Idiot's Guide to Creating an HTML WEbpage and the free download books at www.sitesell.com

    Both helped me. Hope it help you.

    W3 schools and Html Dog is also good. You don;t need to learn to program to make your own website. You can create blogs like Wordpress, Drupal and Joomla via your hosting control panel, just to let you know if you don't know it already.

    There are also many free themes for all of them.

    You could always go old fashion and use books (for those of you who still know what those are :p ). If it has to be a website that teaches you, definitely W3Schools.

    Yes w3schools for sure! They offer some great stuff over there for beginners and more advanced folks too!.

    Also sitepoint has some nice PHP & MySQL tutorials if you go that route.
