I dunno if this is the best place to ask but as you guys mainly all know php i thought it would be a good shot where is the best place (for free) to learn php... i have had a look at a few sights but i just cant get the hang of it... i know it takes time and all but its just not working for me. Thanks all =]
I learned from the SitePoint book Build Your Own Database Driven Web Site Using PHP & MySQL. Definitely suggest you give it a look.
as i said above, needs to be FREE, you can only get a few chapters in that book for free thanks though
Nothing in this world is free ( even if it is, quality is below zero ). From my own experience - I started with w3schools, then moved to Google ( seriously .. learn how to search for information ).
One of the best things you can do to help get familiar with PHP is to install Apache, PHP, and MySQL on your own system so that you can gain experience and follow exercises in books and online materials without having to continually upload files to a remote server via FTP. I'm old school, so I prefer books to online tutorials for most topics. Tutorial sites are often so full of ads that it takes a dozen pages to see the same material you'd get from two or three in a decent book. Try your local public library. Even if the PHP programming books they have are a couple of years old, you'll still be able to get the foundation you need.
You'll definitely need a book otherwise your coding standards will not be up to snuff, trust me on this, you can learn the basics via online tutorials but eventually you'll have to transition to a book to fully understand the language. Tutorials only get you so far. That said, devzone.zend.com is a very good site (though it's more intermediate/advanced)
Hi. The following site might help you. 1) w3schools.com 2) java2s.com 3) learnphp.org You should do practise in PHP in order to get hands on it. Have a nice day.
I mostly learned PHP from tizag.com . It really helps. They have tons of tutorials and samples. For more complex scripts you can check phpclasses.org/ Have a great day, Vlad
