Best Place to Learn HTML/CSS

    Hi,

What are the best resources out there for learning HTML/CSS from scratch?

I did know a bit going back about 5 years, however I've forgotten most of it!

I would like to learn it the proper way and hopefully be able to cover all bases including the latest developments i.e. HTML5. I'm prepared to put the time and effort in....at least whilst I'm still in this motivated mood!

Many thanks in advance to any input offered and for helping me start my journey:)

I suggest you use these ones as I still use them to brush up or recap on styles and selectors (as one example). I have made HTML 5 compliancy a priority and so I am brushing up on CSS3 and jQM code. I thought I had enough to do with jQuery, oh well, such is the life of us coders.
    Anyhow, I use:
    w3schools
    html5rocks
    and yes, www.codecademy.com/learn is good.
I find it best to use tools to assist with front end development when I am learning:
    jResponse jresponse.net/
    Kickstart www.99lime.com/
On top of that, using forums like this and Q&A sites like stackoverflow and geekit are great for support on issues with code, etc.
    That should help.

There are plenty of the great places to go and learn, but I'd say that Codecademy.com is the best place for learning, and w3schools is the best place for reference and questions.

Don't get drowned in 'where to learn' sites, just choose some of the above and ensure your time is spent on coding, not surfng for tutorials.
