Best place to incorporate (US vs offshore), and implications for affiliates

    Hi all,

I'm currently based in Spain and am not sure where I will be living in 6 months as my visa will expire. I am a Canadian citizen but haven't lived in Canada for 6+ years and have no ties.

I'm starting a web business that will be focused on the US market, and I plan to use Google Adsense as well as Amazon and Ebay affiliate to generate revenue. I will also eventually introduce paid subscription for small and medium businesses (consumer accounts will be free).

Based on my goals, is there any downside to incorporating offshore? What about the banking aspect? To simplify things I could setup a business account in the US that is registered to the offshore company, but it could also create other complications.

    Any thoughts/experience with this?

    Cheers,
    Matt

it depend where you will be living, offshore company is good solution, but not for all cases, in your case it is important to consider how you will accept funds from clients, but there exist also offshore merchant accounts if you hav certain turnover

What do you want from offshore? Anonimity, low taxes, etc.? Why don't you want to incorporate in the US or Canada?
Methinks that for affiliate programs, adsense and selling on ebay you don't need any incorporation at all. Anyway, Gibraltar is now near you, the lawyers there will be happy to get a company for you.
