Best place to find professional, real and quality article writers?

    hey,

I have been searching a lot these days, but I was wondering which marketplace should I hit on the internet to find some top-notch quality writers for my blog!

I tried Dp but the response sucks and the people who Pm either are playing or just pissing in the air blindly. Anyways, I wanted to know a good place where I could find some good article writers.

Can any on of you recommend me any site?

What's your budget? Because, since you say you've been shopping on DP, I'm guessing you've been hunting for bargains.

The kind of writer you're looking for is expensive. That's why whenever I need good articles I write them myself. It's unreasonable to expect quality for a cent per word (or less), from some poor guy slaving in a third world country, who can barely speak English, much less write it.

There are companies who provide the services you need, and you can sort the good from the bad by looking at their portfolios and client lists. But, again, you'll have to pay their price.

I am asking for a place to find writers. Not your 2 cents. If you know sites where I can find writers then let me know. I am sure I know that the BST section of this forum sucks that why I dont f*** around here any more.

I write articles, but don't charge low rates anymore. However, depending on the project I have found good English writers on oDesk for $15-20 per article. Any less, you risk spending a lot of time rewriting, editing, and of course watching like a hawk for potential plagiarism.

    Good luck!

Golly, with that attitude it's no wonder you can't find people willing to work with you. Want good writers? Use Google, you'll find plenty. Look at the writers' websites and contact a few that have sites that match what you want. The majority of the sites that provide a "place to find writers" have turned into a virtual flea market where any doofus with a word processor can proclaim themselves a professional writer.

What is your definition of "top-notch"?

( for some it could mean error-free writing, for others it could mean proven expertise and exceptional writing etc etc)

I always tried to source good writers on the internet, but unfortunately only found low quality garbage. Only 1 in 10 writers passed our article test. We decided to write our own articles from personal experience and research on the internet. We found in 30 minutes we could get quality article out on the internet which was grammatically correct, unique and most of all cost effective for us.

Now if you needed 50+ articles created a day then this would be way too time consuming. :-(

Like the others have said, you have odesk, elance, and, you also have Guru.

You can also go to info portals, like About, Yahoo, MSN, Askmen...

There are many writers there you can send an e-mail to.

You also need to think outside the box.

Here is a board filled with stay-at-home moms who write articles to help pay the bills

    http://www.wahm.com/forum/wahms-who-write-46/

You can also check out, "writers," at content mills. Like, for example, Demand Media.

Just do keyword searches for their articles, and then send them an e-mail through their link they leave at the end of their articles.

USA Today carries DM articles in their Travel Tips section in their website. http://traveltips.usatoday.com/

Type in the name of a content mill, along with the subject you need articles on, and it should take you to such articles. Then contact the writers from the.

It's incredibly easy to find halfway decent writers.

Regardless, of where you go, though, be prepared to spend at least $15 per article.

Well, that attitude came due to the shit writers I got from Dp, although when I work with writers or I work with my buyers, I have a more subtle attitude. Don't worry I am more calm! :p

Sorry about the lang I used in the last posts. Sometimes I get really pissed off!!

No worries. Trust me I understand. I just finished sending an email to a client recommending that she take her almost ready to launch website that she's been waiting six months for and throw it in the trash heap because the coding is so bad. Certainly not something I thought I would ever have to do as a writer. I feel absolutely terrible that she's in this position.

With so many people around the world needing money and the low barrier to entry, just about any web-related service is full of two-bit hacks who don't know what they are doing. I always suggest to buyers to only hire people with their own web sites. It's still no guarantee that they know what they are doing but it at least shows they have put some effort into their business. It's harder to find good folks around here but there are many great writers on DP. You won't find many of them in the BST area. I'd look over this section and see how writers express themselves and whether they help others or just simply post advertisements for themselves. Contact a few directly, the prices will be higher but so will the quality of the work.

Patience is a virtue; I'm just starting to outsource more writing services and have had to test about 10 writers found on sites like oDesk. I've found about six I love working with, but if a writer requires a lot of instruction and hand-holding it doesn't matter how good the final product is...you've wasted a lot of time (and cash) and might have saved sanity and time writing the article yourself.

    Good luck!

    Peace,
    Stephanie

Google is a good place, to get found in google someone has to have a website that actually ranks in something so it shows they have invested some work and study into the profession. But they will probably want some decent money for their work.

The problem with DP and a lot of the other sites is anyone with an internet connection can spend 5 min join a forum or a job board so it filters almost no one out.

I am an article writer and have found all my clients either word of mouth or via Craigslist. I always offer a free writing sample and have found that while I am not the cheapest blogger out there, my clients return because I can not only offer quality content, but I am DEPENDABLE. Most of the wanna-be bloggers out their have trouble with self-motivation...the biggest threat to working from home! The reason I blog is that I live overseas in a country where I don't speak the language. I can't work here, so I work online, and writing is the best way to utilize my education. A lot of bloggers don't have training and think it is an easy way to make money without really having to work...boy, are they wrong! I agree with the other posts, to get quality, you may have to spend a little more money than perhaps you had initially thought, but I think it is the only way to avoid the headaches. Try Craigslist, but be aware you are going to get a lot of replies!!! Good luck!

yeah, so I was thinking about it. This section seriously is better than the BST for sure. If you check the post areas of the wanna be writers here, they actually hardly have 1 or 2 post in this section.

    Thanks for the heads up!

I wonder, do you guys put up some kinda test for the new writers on your site? Or it's just another BST with content writers.

All good suggestions. Check this section of the site for some serious writers, or look in the blogging sections since you're seeking bloggers. If you're working in a particular niche, you should also be looking for a specialist in that niche. Of course, specialists do charge a bit more than the run-of-the-mill writer.

Most of the bidding sites let you find specialist writers if you dig a bit into their work. Most of the serious writers and bloggers aren't on Elance or the like though because they have their own brands and businesses built around a website or blog. Don't Google 'writer'. Search for something more specific like "technology blogger" and you'll have better luck.

I'd also recommend contacting writers who work on information sites. Those sites discriminate unlike mills and forums, and you'll be able to see samples of their work immediately.

The best writers are native English speakers, assuming you're looking for an article in English. However, not all native English speakers are good writers. So I would prioritize native English speakers and then filter them based on skill. Anyone can present a work as theirs, although it may in fact be written by someone else. So asking for a sample is an inadequate test. Requiring references can help, if you can contact the reference. Of course, references that are listed are always favorable ones. The unfavorable ones are omitted, which doesn't make it any easier. However, sometimes a reference might say a little something to tip you off that the so-called 'writer' has some problem.

I work jobs very selectively on DP and have found it worthwhile. My writing is professional, as I actually have an education in writing and have worked as a professional writer. Working under the pressure of a schedule, completing significant research, creating drafts and revising for publication, and establishing the final, polished product are all critical stages that must be realized for a professional writing.

Ask the potential writer questions and you may be able to perceive whether or not they are a professional.
