Best Place to Find a Good Article Writer?

    Hi everyone,

I'm looking to hire a long term article writer. I've tried using Scriptlance but it seems I have no luck there. The articles are never any good and everyone on there claims to be an expert at writing articles but their work doesn't show it.

Do any of you have a good article writer or service you recommend or know where I can find one?

I'm looking to spend around $5 for a 400-500 word article which seems to be about the average price.

    Thanks for any recommendations.

I don't believe a good article writer will settle for such measly fees, unless he/she is REALLY strapped for cash. I regard myself as a reasonably competent writer (around 3 years of experience as Internet freelancer), and I hardly ever can bring myself to write for lower than $0.03 per word, anymore. Usually I just prefer keeping focused on own websites / projects and the occasional customer who doesn't mind paying for quality.

Anyway, before I digress towards blatant self-promotion, here's a useful tip: search the content creation forums here at DP and you'll easily find several bang-for-buck type of writers who will work for as low as one cent per word - even less. There are some good writers out there who are still inexperienced, meaning they won't mind settling for those kind of payments.

Just remember: you always get what you pay for, and when something looks too good to be true, it usually is too good to be true. Further, at 1 cent per word, one needs to write 10,000 words to earn a hundred bucks! Needless to say, nowadays $100 really isn't much cash anyway. How serious can a writer be about his craft to settle with those kind of earnings?

Oh I didn't even know there was a section of this forum for that. I am still kind of new here so thanks for the tip. Also, the $5 an article was just the average bid price I saw when I made a project listing on SL so I figured that's what most people were paying/charging.

I'll go and check out the content creation area for some writers. Thanks.

You're correct by saying that $5 per 500-word article is what most people are charging - but the hidden bit is that most people are absolutely awful writers and for $0.01 per word you can't expect more than an article that lacks proper structure (or even meaning) and ships with tons of spelling and grammar errors free of charge.

If you're after quality articles, written in proper English and by people who know something about writing techniques then you're looking at paying at least $10 to $15 per article.

Agreed. Most of the writers, even the ones here on DP, are not native English-speaking people.

Their low prices reflect their writing abilities.

The old saying "you get what you pay for" really applies when it comes to finding article writers.

Bryan is right. And Smitten too.

I usually charge at least $20/article IF you can even get me to write them for you. I focus more on copywriting these days and on writing my own stuff.

Although in an effort to provide some continuity, I do offer an article-a-day service that provides articles for a somewhat lower price. You can find the info by following one of the links in my signature in this post and then looking in the signature of the posts where those lead.

Roundabout? Sure... But I'm not upgrading my membership just to get four links... and at the moment at least, I'm more interested in selling my blogging course and my keywords tutorial than in writing more articles ;-)

But I'll be happy to talk if you'll send me a PM.

I think you should try some freelancing sites like eZdia , getafreelancer, odesk etc from where you may get some good article writers, just post the requirement and your budget over there and you will get the persom you are looking for. May this will help you .

    .

On DP many writers are not native English speaking people, But few from them are good about price & quality writing. You may try just give them trial work, then choose who will satisfy you.

As I mentioned in my post, I haven't been able to find very good writers through there. Everyone that bids on my project and posts samples has terrible sentence structure and grammar and the articles just aren't readable.

I'll just try to find some through this forum.

    hey,
I have had some really good success getting some good writers from odesk and freelance for right around $5. You can normally tell how a writer will write just from seeing general things that they write and what they say. It is best to look over a couple different people before deciding, but those 2 sites seem to give pretty consistent article ability that you are probably looking for.
    Best Of Luck To You:)

You may also want to consider going to sites that has the kind of articles that are in your genere, and then contact THOSE writers. Start with such sites as About.com.

I write a lot of articles, and believe me it's not easy to write articles of good original quality. It normally takes me about half an hour to put out a decent article, with proper grammar and words with more than three syllables.

I then spend a further ten minutes or so honing and polishing my article before sending it off to be published.

At the rate suggested above, I'd be earning $15 an hour, less that a check out chick at the local supermarket.

I believe my qualifications in the English language surpass that.

Were I looking for a good article writer, I would do what has already been suggested, which is to go to Ezinearticles and check out articles on the subject on which you want to have your article written.

Find an author whose style and grasp of English grammar suits your needs and contact him/her directly. Just don't insult them by offering $5 an article.
