I get my domains from only GoDaddy so I can have all my domain management in one place but I get my hosting from several other places as GoDaddy hosting can be pretty expensive.

Hostgator is the best place to go for unlimited hosting of domains for $10/monthly. For domains names there is namecheap. I dont suggest using godaddy anymore.

I know many people dislike godaddy, but I am too use to them and lazy to look for a new place to shop.

Go Daddy and namecheap for registering domains, even host some at Go Daddy, as long as it is on their Grid hosting and not regular shared hosting.

    I buy them separately.

Godaddy is good, and I got my first domain there. But later, I've bought one domain from namecheap because they offer one year free Whois-protection, and then just don't bother to switch to another company.

I register domain names with Godaddy and buy hosting service from Softlayer reseller. My site traffic is too small to support a VPS or dedicate server.

NameCheap is far the best for domains
But for hosting you need to choose one according to your budget

So far I'm the type to buy domains from Godaddyand host with hostgator But I'm going to be looking around for a better place to buy domains as Godaddy is a pain to navigate and pricey.

I'd say GoDaddy for domains and HostGator for hosting.

I'm buying domains from 1and1. They are cheap and have a free private registration.
