Best payment method for my website?

    Hi there,

I currently sell a digital item for $3.99.

Of this, I lose approx $0.40 + 2% of every sale in paypal fees. I have looked for an alternative method but have come unstuck. What would you suggest?

At the moment my site only accepts paypal. Is this a bad move?

Or if you want to stick with paypal then go for a personal account. You can have one personal and one business account. But the thing is that you'll have to accept payment manually, i.e. people will have to send the money to your account manually. I used this to save some paypal fees.

You should stick with paypal but add other payment processors like moneybookers, alertpay and even e-gold.

You could try accepting CC? Try cdgcommerce.com

Qualified Visa/MC Per Sale Fee -
    Most Credit/Debit Cards 2.25% + $0.30

Or stick with paypal as it is extremely popular.

Paypal is the widely used payment processor. You can use moneybookers for accepting credit card payment. It will cost you less in accepting payment. If your digital product is illegal to moneybookers than they can terminate your account also.

I will not suggest you 2checkout unless you are accepting big payments. You need 49$ to sign up for an account in 2checkout.com and their fees are high also comparing to paypal. But 2checkout has online customer service that is the plus point of it.
