Best OSX HTML/PHP Editors

I'm guessing this topic has been discussed before, but I was not able to find anything on it. I just switched over to a Mac and am having a hard time finding a good replacement for my beloved Homesite.

I'm looking for an editor that has syntax coloring, project/site management, and tabbed file editing. I've tired out a few (Taco, BBEdit) but have yet to find one that feels 'right'.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This was discussed a little bit over here. BBEdit/TextWrangler are quite popular, I've also used jEdit in the past. What didn't feel right about BBEdit? I know one guy who switched to Mac because of BBEdit.

Well, so far it is minor stuff, but the devil is in the details. Like tabs being treated like spaces. Now I I've got auto-expand tabs off, but after inserting a tab and hitting the delete key, it goes back by spaces. This will be annoying when you are 3-4 tabs deep.

I'm also not crazy on how it manages products/sites, but I'm chalking that up to inexperience for now. All that being said - it is the best editor I've tried so far.

I'm awfully fond of Emacs, myself. It's not the flashy gui oriented editor you may be used to, but it does whatever you want it to do. Of course many non *nix oriented users are put off by the ungodly amount of stuff it seems you should learn, but you only need to learn what you're going to use.

In *nix environments (which includes osX), you have an extended list of utilities that integrate directly with Emacs or can be run directly from the editor. Built in integration with CVS is worth the price of admission, alone. How great is it to open your editor to the stylesheet you were using at 3:45PM 2 days ago? You know, the last one that actually worked. ;) What about built in xhtml on the fly validation? A built in therapist for those really bad days? (yeah, really)

    cheers,

    gary

Hmmmm.... There must be a preference to turn that off. That isn't the behavior I have in BBEdit.

That's what I figured too, but I can't seem to find where to change it. Guess it's time to read the manual...

You can't pass up a recommendation like this one. I'll be trying out Emacs as well.

I used to use BBEdit, but since I have started to devlop using RoR, I swtiched to Textmate. I won't use any other editor now. It's just so simple to use.
