Best order for writing keywords?

Do the search engines rank you higher if important keywords are directly adjacent, compared to their being separated by another word?

An example: "free sermons" is an often-searched KW phrase for me. I could change some of the copy to read "free online sermons." That would begin to pick up searches also for "online sermons." BUT...would the very imporant KW phrase "free sermons" lose some ground in the SERPs because it is now separated by the word "online"? Thanks for any input.

I doubt this can be too much important. My best advise to everybody is to think less in SEO and more in content. Google is more perfect you think

If you use backlinks with good anchor text it should not matter, but that's just my opinion.

What can be true is maybe it is best to have related words near your backlinks.
Anyway, I doubt what you say, Jim, can be too much important, because seems Google gives about 65% importancy to backlinks and another 20% to title.

I think that click through is another factor in links. How much traffic the landing pages get, etc.
